Fei Yu (second from the right) with the production team of “A Writer’s Odyssey”. My story with"A Writer's Odyssey" began in 2019 when the film was asstill at the shooting stage. At that time, director Lu Yang invited me to have a visit and I was truly affected by the enthusiasm and professionalism of the entire crew. For this reason, I was looking forward to the journey that is about to begin. "This first piece of soundtrack we created before shooting was 'Song of Little Orange', a copyrighted melody purchased, and I chose to use the flute as the main instrument to re-create and re-arrange." Fei Yu recalled. "This piece became a theme throughout the play - finding the child". To adjust gestures of playing hands during filming, this theme music was the first piece to be set. "The next time we saw the film was to watch the in-process-version with the director and Mr. Jed Kurzel, the composer. We held a meeting for a couple of days together to decide the direction of creating, main theme positioning the other issures." The plot of the film revolves around " The power of belief" and the "assassination" theme unfolds, the expression of compactness and sense of crisis has become indispensable. Jed Kurzel (who has served as "Assassin's Creed", "Alien: Covenant" etc.). for science fiction suspense movies, Jed has a wealth of creative experience in the expression of music, and is especially good at processing music sound effects. The scenes in the movie "A Writer's Odyssey" have been switching back and fourth between the reality and dream, and the role of music makes a difference. The role of music makes the transition between the two scenes smoother, and the free transition without trace is distinguished from each other.

In addition to the soundtrack, GAI's end credit song also adds a lot to the music. The story takes place in Chongqing, and the interpretation of the dialect is also specially designed. Many people talked about the unexpected music after watching the film, which is just right to match the grand scene of it. Some comments on the social media platforms said that: "As soon as the music is on, I was so touched to believe."; "At the end of the movie, I frantically took out my phone, trying to scan the song." Fei Yu said that applying the musical elements from the soundtrack to the end credit song is also a way to enhance the sense of departure from the movie.
